A woman invited her former partner over to discuss their failed relationship, and the discussion soon turned into a heated argument. Her former partner became angry and damaged a spa cover in her backyard. The woman later called police to report the damage, and her former partner was arrested for vandalism.

A 38-year-old man was sleeping on a park bench at MacDutra Park and was woken up by Half Moon Bay Police officers. He was arrested on charges of public intoxication.

A 26-year-old woman from Newark was dumping clothes off the rack onto the floor at a store. Employees asked the woman to leave, but she refused and began pushing the store owner.

5:17 p.m., July 25, Chesterfield Avenue
A 37-year-old man was arrested for slapping his wife and grabbing her by the neck. He was taken to jail.
8:52 p.m., July 25, Bloom Lane
A 59-year-old and his father-in-law got embroiled in a fight when the son-in-law was asked to move out of the house. The younger man told police responding to the fight that his mother’s husband kicked him in the head and that he didn’t attack back. But police saw the elderly man had visible swelling and sores on his face. The older man was eventually taken to the hospital. The son-in-law was cited and released and was given an order forcing him to immediately move out of the house.

A woman reported to police that she had been trading e-mails and phone calls with a stranger for months. Last week, the stranger revealed she harbored a long-time grudge against her and blamed her for ruining her brother’s life.

Neighbors reported gunshots to police, who later determined the sounds were actually coming from a replica “Airsoft” gun being fired by an 18-year-old.

Sheriff’s deputies pulled over a man on probation and discovered a small bag of methamphetamine, a pipe and an ounce of marijuana.

A 52-year-old homeless man was caught smoking marijuana. The man also had two pipes in his possession. He was cited and released.

A resident was spotted tossing cat feces in the roadway, prompting neighbors to call the police on him. The man admitted discarding the refuse, and his neighbors said this wasn’t the first time he had littered in the street. The case is being forwarded to the district attorney.

A white, “Iron Horse” BMX bike was stolen from the library.

A complimentary breakfast for hotel guests was raided by a homeless person. The unwanted visitor took several food items before leaving.

A sound amplifier worth $300 was stolen from a parked vehicle.

6 a.m., July 25, Highway 92
A suspicious man walked into a store before it was open for business. Store employees warned the man he couldn’t come inside, but he proceeded to walk through the store and exit the back door. Police later searched the area, but couldn’t find him.
10:30 p.m., July 25, Cypress Avenue
Several young men were yelling at each other. When police arrived to quell the disturbance, two men with known criminal backgrounds took off running. The two runners climbed a fence and sprinted through different yards. Police detained one of them, but while they were restraining the 16-year-old, someone threw a glass bottle at the officer, which shattered at the officer’s feet. The young man was arrested for trespassing and violating his parole terms and was later released to a parent.

A 16-year-old was caught spray-painting along the side of a retail store. The teenager was arrested and charged with drawing graffiti on two stores and a truck camper.

Someone smashed a passenger side window of a car to steal a wallet with three credit cards, a driver’s license and other personal information.
4:14 p.m., July 17, Montara State Beach
Someone broke into a vehicle to steal a purse with a credit card that was used a half-hour later to make purchases at a Daly City gas station.
2:30 p.m., July 18, McNee Ranch
Two purses were stolen when someone smashed open a side window of a car. The total loss was estimated to be $1,900.

A car burglar broke two windows of a vehicle to steal a woman’s purse with credit cards and various personal items.

A man was arrested for possessing methamphetamine and a glass pipe.
DUI
12:42 p.m., July 19, Airport Road
A man traveled to recover his vehicle from a tow-truck company after it was hauled off the road during a recent DUI accident. But the tow-truck company employees suspected the man was drunk once again. The man was reportedly barely conscious and he reeked of alcohol. At one point, he fell asleep while getting his belongings out of the vehicle. The man got back behind the wheel and drove his vehicle north on Highway 1, where Sheriff’s deputies pulled him over. The driver explained his drowsy behavior was due to his medication, but deputies also found a water bottle filled will alcohol on the passenger seat. The drunken man could barely stand up during sobriety tests and he nearly fell asleep again. He was arrested and taken to jail, and his vehicle was towed once again.
