Shirley was born May 21, 1937, in Portage, Wis. She married her high school sweetheart, Duane Berger, and moved to El Granada, Calif., with Duane, where they raised three children: Mike, Alan and Susan.
She passed away peacefully on July 14, 2010, in San Bruno, at her daughter’s home surrounded by family. She was a longtime resident of El Granada, and recently relocated to Elk Grove, Calif. She is preceded in death by her husband, Duane Berger, mother Fern Okan, father Frank Okan, and granddaughter Brianne Berger. She is survived by her brothers Randy Okan and Bob Okan, her sons, Mike and wife Donna Berger, Alan and wife Linda Berger, daughter Susan and her husband, Mark Padreddii, and grandchildren Sherry Gordon and husband Phil, Brian, Cody, Carly, Cassie Gregory, Alicia, Ryan and Brandon.
