Rural roads workshop set for Saturday

Published/Last Modified on Thursday, Mar 04, 2010 - 09:46:57 am PST

Coastside conservationists are offering a workshop to bring rural residents up to speed about improving damaged roads near their homes.

Hosted by the San Mateo County Resource Conservation District, the workshop “will help rural road residents understand the basics of erosion and drainage, recognize the early signs of road failure, find funding and technical assistance for improvements, and get tips on creating a road association and working with neighbors to improve private roads,” according to a district announcement.

The workshop runs 12 to 2 p.m., March 6, at Gazos Grill, 5720 Cabrillo Highway, just south of Pigeon Point Lighthouse in Pescadero. Contact Ellen Gartside in advance at 712-7765 or ellen@sanmateorcd.org.
