One of the high moments was Danielle Peranich winning the triple jump. Peranich opened the competition jumping going 29 feet, 11 inches.
That mark would have been good enough to win, if she didn’t improve.

The sophomore finished 2½ inches behind the mark she got last year when she finished second PAL Frosh-Soph championships.
Another sophomore, Maggie Galle, took second in the high jump, going 4-8. She, too, was second in the PAL Frosh-Soph championships last year, clearing 4-10.
Meanwhile, Christy St. Charles won the frosh-soph high jump at 4-2.
As for the track, Half Moon Bay’s girls’ distance medley team of Katherine Abadie, Nicole Macapinlac, Lauren Irish and Sammy Hamilton won in 13 minutes, 26 seconds, 30 second ahead of runner-up Hillsdale.
Abadie led off, running the 1,200 in 4:12.
“The girls ran a great race,” coach Paul Farnsworth said. “But after the race, they were not pleased. They felt they could have run faster.”
Carrick Meyer turned in a 1:32 time in the 600-meter run. That equals about a 2:05 time in the 800.
Jeremy Schmidt finished strong on several relay teams.
Ryan Roberts was second in the frosh-soph high jump, clearing 4-8. Luke Cardelli and David Arella tied for fifth at 4-2.
The Cougars next compete March 13, in the Twilight Relays at San Rafael High School.
