On Tuesday Comcast, the cable television company servicing the Coastside, issued a press release touting high-definition service upgrades were complete across much of the Bay Area and that customers would be getting two new channels.
Don’t bother looking at your local listings, however. The release notes the upgrades missed the Half Moon Bay Area (as well as Mendicino, Isleton and the Santa Cruz and Scotts Valley area.
The same release notes that Comcast has added more than 80 channels for most in the Bay Area after completing work to migrate customers from analog formats.
In an interview with the Review in February 2009, Comcast Vice President Andrew Johnson said work done on the connection between Pacifica and Pescadero would be complete in 2009 and make possible HD and On Demand coverage on the coast.
The wait continues.
