UPDATE--Both lanes of Highway 1 have been re-opened at about noon after an accident involving a big rig close the southbound lane at the intersection of Coral Reef Avenue in El Granada, according to San Mateo County law enforcement officials.

A semi truck jackknifed on the highway while attempting to make a turn near the intersection, according to a tow truck driver who helped the semi truck driver pull to the shoulder of the roadway; authorities closed off the lane for about a half hour.
