Gerald Joseph Capote

Published/Last Modified on Wednesday, Feb 24, 2010 - 11:41:24 am PST

Gerald Joseph Capote, 77, of Red Bluff passed away peacefully at home on February 11, 2010, with his sons by his side, after a 10-year battle with cancer.

He was born July 26, 1932 in Half Moon Bay.  He was married to the love of his life, Shirley Ann Capote, until Nov. 6, 2008 when she sadly passed away from cancer after 54 years of marriage.

Jerry was a member of the Operating Engineers for 45 years as well as a member of the Moose Lodge. He loved his Westerns, fishing, vacationing with his family, and his casino outings; but most of all he loved his family.  He was full of laughter and can still be heard along with that big smile that lit up any room he was in.

He is survived by sons Russell and Patrick Capote, daughter-in-law Lori, grandchildren Jennifer and Joseph Capote, of whom he was so proud, brother and sister-in-law Louie and Gloria Martin, as well as many loved nieces and nephews.

He is finally reunited with his love, dancing in heaven.

They will be laid to rest together at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Red Bluff.
