Dennis Plank

Dennis Plank, longtime resident of Woodside, and owner/operator of DENNIS PLANK CONSTRUCTION, died on February 15, with his family at his side.

In 1951, Dennis moved to Kings Mountain above Woodside, Calif., from his home in Kansas and attended San Jose State University. He joined the U.S. Air Force, served in Korea and in 1962 returned to Kings Mountain, with his wife and two young children, where he resided until his death at age 75.

Dennis loved his mountain home in the redwoods and was happiest when salmon fishing, on the golf course or cooking for friends and family.


He is survived by his wife, Sybil, of Woodside, daughter Diana and son-in law David Cline of Montara, grandsons Denny Plank of Montara and Dustin Cline and Bromley Tellier of Half Moon Bay, nephew Erik Davis and wife Victoria of San Francisco, his sister, Barbara Martin, of San Antonio, Texas, and niece Dhawn Martin of New Jersey. A memorial gathering will be held beginning at noon on Saturday, March 20, at the Kings Grove’s Tom May Center on Tunitas Creek Road, Woodside, Calif. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory can be made to the Boys & Girls Club of the Coastside, P.O. Box 545, Half Moon Bay, CA 94019. Services entrusted to: The Lifemark Center at Skylawn Memorial Park, 650-349-4411.
